non-profit.

Certification

Are You Aware?

Any individual, business or entity (private sector or public, for profit or not) that offers a service which caters to children and/or vulnerable people is required to screen any individual (employee, volunteer, contractor, service provider) that works for them or conducts business on their behalf, that may have access to children or vulnerable people. Screening is conducted against the National Register for Sex Offenders (NRSO) and/or the National Child Protection Register (NCPR).

The Department of Education has taken responsibility for the screening of post-provisioning staff at schools. SGB's and Principals are responsible for the screening of all other individuals with access to children or vulnerable persons.

All other organisations that make use of individuals who work with children and /or vulnerable people on their behalf, are required to screen those individuals working with children or vulnerable persons against the NRSO and / or the NCPR.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who is legally required to be screened?
A: Anyone working with or who has access to children or vulnerable people — including teachers, support staff, NGO volunteers, transport providers, and more.

Q: How long does screening take?
A: Under 30 minutes (maximum) of your time , 1 - 24 hours for your Criminal Record Clearance to be delivered, up to 21 days (legislated) for the receipt of your results (This is typically significantly longer - which is why we issue a Proof of Submission).

Q: What is the difference between the NRSO and NCPR?
A: They are separate registers maintained by the Department of Justice and the Department of Social Development. In many instances, screening against both is required.

Q: Can you assist with criminal record checks too?
A: Yes! We offer full fingerprinting and submission services through our association with PostNet Vincent. Criminal record checks can be done at any of the PostNet stores nationwide.
